This consists of a 4 day classroom based workshop developed and annually updated by the CCS Clinical Coding Academy Network.  The workshop offers specialty training to enable experienced clinical coders to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the processes and terminology associated with the circulatory and vascular systems, through a series of learning sessions, interactive activities and practical coding exercises.

This is a 25 day classroom based course developed and annually updated by the NHS Clinical Classifications Service (CCS).  This course is broken down into 4 modules and aimed at new clinical coders, covering basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and provides education in the form of e-learning modules, tutorials and practical exercises around the rules and conventions of the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications used for clinical coding.   Please note that a pre requisite for attendance on the Clinical Coding Standards Course is that delegates are expected to have completed the e-Learning modules which can be accessed via TRUD prior to attendance ( the workbook and certificate of completion of this e-earning must be submitted on first day of attendance of the 25 day classroom based learning).

This is a 4 day, classroom based training course developed and annually updated by the NHS Classifications Service (NCS).  The course aims to consolidate both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge of a clinical coder through a number of assessment based exercises, interactive activities and learning sessions.

NCCQ Exam Revision Workshop

This is a 5 day classroom based workshop developed and updated annually by the CCS Clinical Coding Academy Network. This exam revision workshop helps to support those delegates currently studying for the National Clinical Coding Qualification by providing advice on study techniques, refreshing basic clinical coding practical skills and theoretical knowledge, including basic anatomy and physiology. The workshop also contains a mock examination and feedback session, along with highlighting those areas which have proven problematic in previous exams.

Neoplasm Workshop

This is a 2 day classroom based workshop developed and updated annually in-house by NCS Approved Clinical Coding Trainers at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, conforming to National Standards.  The workshops offers specialty based training associated with the diagnostic and procedural coding in relation to neoplastic disease,   through a series of learning sessions, interactive activities and practical coding exercises and case studies.

Obstetric & Perinatal Workshop – Foundation
